On March 27, 2018, Cheong Kun Lun College received a distinguished guest –Ms. Cao Xiuwen, a famous painter of style “Jin-shan Farmer’s Painting.” With bright colors and depicting countryside daily life, this style of painting originates in the Jin-shan District, Shanghai. It was nurtured by a group of well-known painters in Shanghai and promoted during the 1970s-90s as one of the close-to-life modern paintings. As leading artist in this style, Ms. Cao has been engaged in painting for about 40 years and created more than 200 paintings. Probably the most famous one is the《Herbalist girl》, and two others have been selected as the souvenir cover by the Expo 2010 Shanghai China, an honor granted to only one painter from Shanghai.

She conducted a workshop at CKLC and the students attending the workshop spent more than 2 hours for their own painting. They had a good time together and were happy with their own “master pieces.”
