Students CKLC Students Won Six Awards in the 4th US & China Youth Essay Competition
The 4th China-US Youth Essay Contest was co-organized by a number of American- Chinese Associations, the American Hong Shen Lin Journal, the American-Chinese Art and Literary Association, and the Chinese New Composition Magazine. Going through all difficulties during the Pandemic of Covid-19, the contest finally ended with satisfactory result. Six students from Cheong Kun Lun College (CKLC) won awards in the university group: Luo Yi, Chen Min, and Zhao Rui won First Prize in Chinese essay, and Zheng Hao, Qiao Jiaqi, and Tang Siyi won Second Prize in Chinese essay.
The theme of the contest is “Love in the Heart” and “On the Road of Life”. The organizing committee hopes that through the contest, young people are called to have love in their hearts on the road of life and to pursue their dreams in adversity. This theme is similar to the essay competition theme organized by CKLC in early 2020 calling students to write stories from the Anti-epidemic of Covid-19. Therefore, the China-US Youth Essay Contest once again inspired the students’ enthusiasm for creation and competition. The China-US Youth Essay Contest Award Ceremony was held on May 28, 2021 in San Francisco Victory Hall. Contestant students from all over the world watched the ceremony online; the UM award-winning students sang the song “Sunshine College and Profound Culture” in the form of video to show in the ceremony. Recently, the award-winning students have happily received the certificates from the Organizing Committee.
張崑崙書院學生在“第四届中美青少年徵文大賽”中榮獲六個獎項
“第四届中美青少年徵文大賽”由美國多個華人團體、美國《紅杉林》雜志社、美華文藝界協會和中國《新作文》雜志社等合作舉辦，期間經歷了疫情帶來的種種困難，最終圓滿結束。張崑崙書院有六名學生在大賽中獲獎：羅羿、陳敏、趙睿同學獲大學中文組一等獎，鄭好、喬嘉琪、湯思怡同學獲大學中文組二等獎。
該大賽的主題爲“心中有愛”和“人生路上”，組委會希望通過大賽，召喚青少年在人生路上心中有愛，在逆境中勇于追尋夢想。該主題和張崑崙書院于2020年初舉辦的“抗疫同行——寫出你身邊愛的故事”的徵文主題有相似之處，于是再次激發了同學們的創作和參賽熱情，最終獲得了好成績。大賽的頒獎儀式于2021年5月28日在舊金山勝利堂舉行，全球的參賽華人學生在網上觀禮；澳大張崑崙書院的獲獎學生以錄像的形式朗誦和演唱了院歌 “陽光書院 文化崑崙”，供大會播放。近日，獲獎的同學也收到了從美國組委會寄來的獎狀。
