On 29 August, CKLCers gathered in CKLC Junior Common Room to watch a well-known Movie with plenty of Macao elements, Unbeatable. After watching the movie, participants hold an enthusiastic discussion about their interesting interpretation of the image of Macao. CKLC Art and Cultural Series: Macao Movie Series is part of the mega international art and cultural event “Art Macao!” presented by Macao SAR to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and promote the development of Macao as a world center of tourism and leisure.

Unbeatable is a 2013 Hong Kong-Chinese sports drama film directed by Dante Lam. The film had its premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival on June 18, 2013. At the CKLC Macao movie night, participants were introduced to the objectives of the activity and the rationale of showing this particular movie. Participants were attracted by the nice shots and the plots of the movie, and meanwhile a sense of belonging was aroused by the presentations of Macao’s historical and cultural background in the movie. After watching the movie, participants shared their own impression of the movie and explored to the topic about how they think the image of Macao was shaped in Hong Kong movies. The movie night ended with a fruitful discussion. They agreed with the conclusion that Macao is a small and historic city filled with humanity as well as incredible opportunities, which is somewhere to create miracle.
