Cheong Kun Lun College held the first Master Dinner of the academic year 2017/2018 on 23 January 2018. CKLC is delighted to have representatives from Zhide College and Meng Xiancheng College to join our Master Dinner.

Zhide College is one of colleges in Fudan University. Zhide College commemorates Fudan’s founder Ma Xiangbo. There are six divisions in the college which includes Journalism School, Law School, College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, School of International Relations and Public Affairs, School of Social Development and Public Policy and School of Mathematical Sciences. It aims to develop the sense of responsibility, practical ability, innovation and international perspective through general education, residential life and student self-management.

Meng Xiancheng College is the first college to implement the college system in the East China Normal University. Each college student has a dual identity, both Meng Xiancheng college students, but also the faculty students. The professional learning and academic development will be handled by their faculty, and the daily life and education support will be responsible by college, which creates a community-based learning and living environment for students.

The formal dinner started with the opening remarks by the College Master Dr. Peter Yu. At the Master’s Dinner, there are different kinds of performances and information sharing between our guests and students. While our students are enjoying the meal, our invited guest Prof. Alfred Wong performed a tea ceremony. Through these performances and sharing section, our students gained not only the knowledge that cannot be learned from the textbooks but also social skills that will be crucial in their life. After the dinner, a lot of students took photos with the guests and their fellow college students in the dining hall, which gave the dinner a wonderful and warming ending.
