AY 2018-19 Application for Resident Tutor in UM’s Residential Colleges

The application of Graduate Resident Tutors is now open.

Energetic, enthusiastic potential student leaders are strongly encouraged to apply.

All appointed RTs must undergo a training program which will be held for several days in early August, before the freshmen orientation program at the beginning of academic year. This specifically designed training program will prepare those appointed RTs to successfully carry out their RT duties. Attendance at that training is an obligatory requirement for the position. Inability to attend for any reason will result in the withdrawal of the offer for the position.

Graduate Resident Tutors (RT)

Resident Tutors are to support the aims of the College, and assist the College Master and Staff of the College.  They will be assigned to take care of a number of resident students and oversee floor activities.  RTs are expected to act as role models to residents and work with good attitude. They should be highly visible in the College, and attend College/floor functions and activities.

RTs will play a key role in providing experiential learning activities which help students meet certain levels of participation in order to successfully complete College and University graduation requirements.

RTs will be offered a single room free of charge and subscribe to the college meal plan of ten meals per week equaling to a 50% reduction of normal meal costs in AY2018/19.
